About

Hello! My name is Jason Bishop and in another life, I like to think I would have been an explorer, and in yet another life, an archaeologist. Ever fascinated by nuances in the patterns, movements and shifting landscape of the world, and in discovering wonders and deciphering new trajectories, in this life I’ve become a designer. Steeped in the history of design, educated by some contemporary masters, I find pleasure in experimenting with tradition, breaking the rules and also using them to my advantage in the forever goal of creating something that’ll make me stop and enjoy the view.

I’ve been lucky, so far, to work with some iconic brands and some emerging visionaries and to learn from so many incredible designers and art directors who’se paths I’ve crossed.

I’m a graduate of the MFA Design Program at The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and you can find my work (print, web and interface design; illustrations; photography) in Good Magazine, The New York Times, McSweeney’s Superhero Supply Company and many more places.

On a good day you can find me mining record stores (and eBay!) to feed an addiction to music. On a great day you can find me playing fetch with my Feist Terrier, Thurston, on the beach. On an exceptional day, you may find me traversing the Mayan ruins in Tulum. But always, you’ll find, that I am thinking, living and breathing design.
